General Manager of Al-Fao Company : The company continues to work at accelerated rates on the Chaldean Church of Babylon project in Baghdad

On Thursday, corresponding to 23/3/2023, Engineer Imad Muhammad Abdullah, Director General of the Al-Fao General Engineering Company, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, and Engineer Salem Abbas Ali, Assistant Director-General, visited the project of building the Chaldean Patriarchate Church of Babylon in Baghdad, which the company is implementing for the benefit of the Department of Buildings affiliated to the Ministry.

They were briefed on the field on the reality of the ongoing work in the project, and the Director General praised the great efforts made by the executive staff through reviewing the work progress program, where the actual completion rate is more than the planned, and this indicates the ability and high efficiency enjoyed by the workers in this project, and he directed the necessity of doubling this Efforts to complete the project in less than the contract period due to the need of the Christian endowment for this building for the purpose of holding religious rituals in it.

 

The Director General added that the project includes the following:

 

1) Rehabilitation of three buildings

A- Building (A) consists of two floors and contains the residence of the Patriarch and his assistants. It also includes a hall for receiving guests and a hall (Al-Kabila) for holding rituals and religious events.

B- Building (B), which includes administrative and service offices.

C - Building (C) which includes a religious school, classrooms and a theater in addition to service buildings and electrical, sanitary and mechanical works.

 

2) Supplying four electric generators and a power station.

3) Executing a refrigerated and frozen store.

4) Two electric elevators.

5) Central air conditioning system.

6) Sanitary and rain water networks stations.

 

And that the cost of the project amounts to more than nine billion Iraqi dinars. On the other hand, Mr. General Manager stated that the company had previously completed several projects in this field, including:

 

1) Reconstruction of the Sayyid al-Najat Church in Baghdad.

2) Construction of the Mandaean Sabian building in Dhi Qar.

3) Development of the area between the Two Holy Mosques in the secured Karbala.

4) Construction of the visitor city building in the secured Karbala.

5) Reconstruction of the building Hussainiya Al-Alekhani in Daquq, Kirkuk.

 

At the end of the visit, the Director General thanked all the workers in this project.
