General Manager of Al-Fao Company, Eng. Imad Muhammad Abdullah: The Company continues to work on the main Al-Khader Bridge project in Al-Muthanna Governorate
Engineer Imad Muhammad Abdullah, Director General of the Al-Fao General Engineering Company, one of the formations of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, stated that the engineering and technical personal affiliated with the company in Al-Muthanna Governorate continue to work on the main Al-Khader concrete bridge project in the governorate, which the company is implementing for the benefit of the Roads and Bridges Department of the Ministry.
He confirmed that the current works are the removal of the approaches with a length of (400) meters for the large side of the bridge, and the works are also continuing on the small side of it, and the works of pouring the arches and the works of preparing the ground for the purpose of starting the works of piling roads for the shoulders and fixing the levels and dimensions.
He added that the bridge consists of five spaces, three of which are inside the river, and consist of concrete tributaries with a length of (36.5) meters, with five tributaries for each space, and two iron spaces with a length of (18.5) meters each.
The Director General also stated that there are some obstacles facing the implementation works, including the presence of irregularly constructed markets near the bridge, as well as the presence of high-voltage lines for electricity transmission between the two sides of the city, and the relevant authorities have been approached for the purpose of changing the course of these lines.
The Director General explained the following:
1) The company is committed to completing the bridge within the specified contractual times or less than that, and the works are currently proceeding smoothly.
2) The cost of the project amounts to more than (3.5) billion dinars.
3) The current completion rate of the project is (20%).
4) The company completed the temporary iron bridge of Al-Khader before starting the implementation of this main bridge, as an alternative to it for the passage of cars.
5) The company has previously completed the Daraji Bridge in the governorate.
